how to find us

Craigmoss is just 15 minutes from Princes Street (the main shopping area of Edinburgh) in a quiet street opposite Pilrig Park. We're also perfectly placed for trips on foot to the great cafes, bars and restaurants (also about 7 minutes walk from the main gay venues!). Getting around Edinburgh is easy on foot or by bus which serves all of Edinburgh - the bus stop is just outside! For motorists, we have free (24 hours!) parking just outside the house. It's a very safe area, but don't leave valuables in your car of course. Below are the details of how to find us - also check out the Google map for our location!

By Plane...

The Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport has several daily connecting flights from the major London airports, as well as other centres around the UK and Europe. Once at the airport, take the airport bus to Waverley train station, then a short cab ride (cost about £3) or a 15 minute walk. Otherwise, a cab direct from the airport to our door will cost about £12 - 14.

By Train...

Edinburgh is linked to the rest of the UK by an excellent rail network (weather permitting). You can travel directly from London, Glasgow, and many other cities and towns. Timetables and other rail information can be found at Railtrack. Once at Waverley train station, exit to Princes St., and follow the directions for how to get to Craigmoss by car, or see the map below.

By Car (or on foot)...

Find Princes Street on the map. The A1 and A68 terminate at the east end of Princes Street. From the A1 you make a right turn from Waterloo Place on to the A900 (Leith). From the A68 you veer right from South Bridge on to the A900. In both cases, carry on down Leith Street until you reach a roundabout. Carry straight over (the Playhouse Theatre will be on your right) until you reach a second roundabout. Again carry straight over, heading downhill on Leith Walk. Pilrig Street is the third main street on the left (look for the church on the corner). Craigmoss is on the left hand side opposite the park.

Edinburgh Shuttle

Edinburgh Shuttle provides door to door transport between Edinburgh Airport and the City. A fleet of 7 seat spacious mini-coaches run a frequent daily service and pick up and drop off at Craigmoss Guest House. Generous luggage space and excellent value fares - only £8.00 for an individual, with reduced rates for passengers travelling together to the same destination. At the airport Edinburgh Shuttle departs from outside the terminal building at UK arrivals where there is also a Sales Office.
